Inline Lever/Lever A lever door handle is a modern handle that can be used on new or replacement doors. This kind door handle is offered in a wide range of designs and finishes. A number of manufacturers make this handle including Avocet, ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale. Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle The uPVC/Composite door handles are made of robust materials and are suitable for multi point lock doors which require a robust design. The handles are inline, and use the same screws and spindle to secure them. They can be easily installed on any uPVC/Composite door. The design of the sprung lever allows the handle to be set and angled to provide a comfortable grip and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles, this allows for the assurance of the quality of the finish and the performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever can also be shortened to fit the widest range of locks. This is particularly useful in doors that are narrower, where the cylinder is situated further away from the door. A shortened lever is also a good choice for doors that have latches that can be opened by a thumb turn located on the inside. Lever Pad A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently than lever handles that are found on the majority of doors. These handle types can either use a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two offset or inline spindles (pad). They are typically used on UPVC double-glazed doors and are available in a variety of variations and styles. The handles are available in various finishes, including White, Chrome, and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle an outstanding performance and durability to serve the purpose it was designed for. All UPVC levers for handles include a spindle and screws and can be mounted on the uPVC door. The backplate fixation centres of 211mm permit a larger handle, which is often beneficial when replacing an old or faulty multi-point door lock mechanism. These handle levers are also spring-loaded, which solves the issue of door handles sagging from their horizontal position when not in use. When choosing the replacement UPVC handle and spindle, it is essential to match the dimensions of the PZ on the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC door. This measurement is often referred to as the handle centre or 'cylinder centres' and is a critical aspect to match the appropriate handles. This can make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks. The design of many modern cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce the chances of an attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in an opposite direction. This can help to deflect attacks and ensure your door is secure. There are also cylinders made to withstand snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. Adding this simple component is one of the most effective ways to fix this, and is an excellent way to stop your doors made of upvc from getting stuck in an open or closed position, as they aren't always easy to manually close by hand. These spring cassettes are specially made for use with sprung multipoint locks but they won't work with unsprung multipoint handles and you will require a hole specifically cut in the backplate to allow them to fit (please see image for technical diagram). These cassettes are a solution to broken or missing cassettes on the backplate of uPVC door handles. They have a square cut out which allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and are sold as a set. These spring cassettes provide a great value solution to the problem of door handles that have become sagging. They are simple to install and will increase the lifespan of your uPVC door.
